K. Manibhai and Company,  Founded by the Late Manibhai G. Patel in 1935, parent company, G. Ambalal (Exp.) P. Ltd. dealt primarily with tea, jute, shellac, rice and tobacco products. It was in 1968, that K. Manibhai & Co. started its operations. It obtained Certificates of Recognition as an Export House from the Government of India. Today, the Founder's three sons, each having diverse technical expertise obtained in the U.S.A., Europe and India run the group.

K. Manibhai & Co. is now into trading and export as well as manufacture and processing of tea into a finished product. Their Imperial Tea Caddy won the Gold Medal at the Leipzing International air in Germany. Their Imperial brand is available both as loose-leaf tea and as tea bags. The Company has four exotic tea gardens viz. Belseri, Jalinga, Dwarbund and Chardwar. The company produces 2 million kg. of high grade teas from its own four estates. The Company has a network of branches to co-ordinate all its activities and to ensure smooth functioning. There are sales offices in Mumbai and Gujarat in (Nadiad) and branch offices in Calcutta, Guwahati and Siliguri to facilitate the auction buying and selling. The passion for premium teas has always been the hallmark of K. Manibhai Tea. Teas are bought from the premier estates in India after sampling hundreds of varieties. Selection is restricted only to a handful of the best for the catalogue. The search is always for the unique, premium and above all, interesting teas to share with the consumer. For the flavored and herbal blends, the flavors and herbs/spices are bought whole from the world's best sources and milled in-house before blending for the most superior product.

The Group has moved towards the organic way of tea production on the Belseri & Jalinga Tea Estates. Naturorganic^® Tea, as the name suggests is a “natural organic” tea produced by utilizing a true form of environmental technology called Rational Farming^®. Inhana Biosciences, a research organization based in Calcutta, has pioneered this technology.

The Rational Farming^® technology, allowed Belseri and Jalinga to reactivate the self-nurturing and self-defence quality of the plant system, which had become deactivated due to the excessive use of chemical inputs. These solutions energized the bushes to draw its nourishment primarily from the atmosphere and qualitatively from the soil. Since the process stimulated the plant to work in its natural manner, nothing had to be added the form of micro-nutrients or macro-nutrients such as potash, phosphate or nitrogen.

When over 99% of all food production is under chemical inputs and organic farming is treated as an expensive, uneconomical method, the conversion of Belseri and Jalinga into a 'naturorganic' gardens was done with the objective of exploding all these myths. Thus the process is radically different from other organic farming methods.
